Behind The Scenes

One of my favorite styles of photoshoots to do is my “Fine Art” sessions with horses. Many other photographers achieve a similar style of photography by placing the horse in the center of a dark barn aisle way, with the sun facing the subject. This is done so when you take the photograph, only the horse is seen clearly and behind the horse provides a natural black background. I, however, do it another way. By hanging backdrops in the barn or indoor arena and using multiple off camera flashes I am able to capture a unique style to your horses fine art session. This allows me to manipulate the light how I want it and how I want the horse to be seen. Natural sunlight can cause incorrect shadows or highlights which can misrepresent your horse. The images in which I take are raw, exact, and not photoshop creations like many other photographers are providing.

The below video was created to show the process of a Fine Art Equine session. I hope you enjoy seeing how I make some of my art.
